A local authority in the UK is seeking an Accountant to support financial operations within the Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships Directorate. The role involves ensuring compliance with financial standards, managing budgets, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience in business partnering across finance and non-finance teams. The Accountant post will support the Adult Social Care and Health Partnerships Directorate, covering a range of services including Adult Social Care, Public Health, Housing Options, Salford Assist, Welfare Rights and Debt Advice and our Health Improvement Service.
As an Accountant, you will support the financial operations within our local authority, ensuring our financial practices comply with statutory regulations and standards. Your role will be crucial in budgeting, financial planning, and reporting, contributing to the efficient management of our resources and the delivery of essential services to our community. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a new finance and procurement system, serving as the subject matter expert for Adult's finance, which includes budgeting, general ledger (GL) structures and other financial operations. Your expertise will ensure a smooth transition and integration with our existing processes, helping to drive efficiency and improve financial management across the organisation.

You will also have experience in business partnering across finance and non-finance teams; preparing budgets and forecasts; have strong communication skills (both written and verbal); the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders using a variety of forms of communication and a proactive and enthusiastic individual who will shape the implementation of a new finance and procurement system.
