About the Role:

Treetops Learning Community is a highly regarded special school in Essex, supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with ASD, SEMH, complex learning difficulties, and a range of additional needs. As an ABA Tutor / LSA, you will be part of a specialist team using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based approaches to provide structured, supportive, and engaging learning.

You don’t need previous experience—just a strong work ethic, patience, and the motivation to learn. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students 1:1 or in small groups using ABA-based learning strategies

  • Help deliver individualised learning programmes tailored to each child’s EHCP

  • Use creative, therapeutic, or sensory-based techniques to engage pupils

  • Monitor progress and keep detailed notes under the guidance of senior staff

  • Assist with behaviour support, emotional regulation, and day-to-day care needs

  • Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive communication in every learner

Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for working with children with SEND

  • Is patient, calm, proactive, and consistent

  • Can build strong relationships with students and staff

  • Is keen to learn and develop within a structured training environment

  • Has experience (or transferable skills) from youth work, care, social work or education

  • May be a graduate looking to explore a pathway into teaching or therapy

Hours & Details:
  • Start Date: September (or immediate start for the right candidate)

  • Contract: Long-term, full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)

  • Location: Treetops Learning Community, Thurrock, Essex

  • Training: Full ABA training provided, plus access to CPD courses and SEND qualifications
