Treetops Learning Community is a highly regarded special school in Essex, supporting children and young people aged 3–19 with ASD, SEMH, complex learning difficulties, and a range of additional needs. As an ABA Tutor / LSA, you will be part of a specialist team using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and other evidence-based approaches to provide structured, supportive, and engaging learning.
You don’t need previous experience—just a strong work ethic, patience, and the motivation to learn. Full training will be provided.
Support students 1:1 or in small groups using ABA-based learning strategies
Help deliver individualised learning programmes tailored to each child’s EHCP
Use creative, therapeutic, or sensory-based techniques to engage pupils
Monitor progress and keep detailed notes under the guidance of senior staff
Assist with behaviour support, emotional regulation, and day-to-day care needs
Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive communication in every learner
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a passion for working with children with SEND
Is patient, calm, proactive, and consistent
Can build strong relationships with students and staff
Is keen to learn and develop within a structured training environment
Has experience (or transferable skills) from youth work, care, social work or education
May be a graduate looking to explore a pathway into teaching or therapy
Start Date: September (or immediate start for the right candidate)
Contract: Long-term, full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Location: Treetops Learning Community, Thurrock, Essex
Training: Full ABA training provided, plus access to CPD courses and SEND qualifications

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
