At Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, the Workforce Developmentand Student Support Team supports pre and post registration students andlearners across a range of non-medical professions, runs the trust widePreceptorship programme for newly qualified practitioners and, deliversclinical skills training.

We are recruiting to the position of Lead Nurse/Practitioner forWorkforce Development for 12 months tocover maternity leave, who is either a nurse, midwife or allied healthprofessional to lead a team of Practice Educators and Pastoral Support Workersto deliver high quality evidence-based learning and development opportunitiesthroughout the trust. We are looking foran individual who is motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about educating thecurrent and future clinical workforce.

The Lead Nurse/Practitioner will work across professional boundariesensuring staff and learners receive high quality clinical training experiencesfrom care certificate for non-registered staff, clinical skills acquisitionthrough to preceptorship delivery according to NHS England standards andframeworks for nursing, midwifery and AHPs.

Our department primarily operates Monday Friday between 8am 6pm andthere is occasional weekend work to support attendance at local university andcollege open days. This post is offeredat 30 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Lead on the implementation of Prepare to Care andthe Care Certificate for Care Support Workers.

Lead on the ongoing development, maintenance andmonitoring of a quality preceptorship package for newly qualifiedpractitioners, based upon NHS England Standards. Lead on the delivery of clinical inductionthrough Prepare to Nurse for newly qualified nurses.

Lead on the development, maintenance and monitoringof quality assured and evidence-based clinical skills training for allnon-medical staff, including various methods of delivery, within the trustensuring that the requirements of NMC and HCPC are adhered to and supportingthe Trusts strategic objectives and operational plans promoting a strongculture of learning and development.

The Lead Nurse/Practitioner for WorkforceDevelopment will provide leadership and management for pastoral support workersand practice educators and co-chair the Trustwide Practice Educator forum.
