A leading educational organization in the UK is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for Meoncross School to support a child with Special Educational Needs. You'll work one-on-one to implement the pupil's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring they thrive socially and academically. Ideal candidates are caring, patient, and have strong communication skills with GCSEs in English and Maths. As a Learning Support Assistant at Meoncross School, you will work closely with a child who has Special Educational Needs, supporting their educational and social development on a one-to‑one basis. Guided by the class teacher and SENDCo, you’ll help implement the pupil’s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), provide tailored learning support, and promote inclusion and independence within the classroom. Your role also includes assisting with playtime supervision, supporting extracurricular activities, and contributing to the child’s emotional wellbeing and progress.
This is a government funded, fixed‑term contract that is linked to an individual child currently in Year 3. Hours are spread across Mon to Fri during term‑time only and are subject to change each academic year depending on the timetable.
You are a caring and enthusiastic individual with a strong desire to support children with special educational needs. You communicate effectively with both children and adults and are confident working 1:1 or in small groups. You have GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above) and ideally experience in delivering interventions or supporting pupils with EHCPs. You’re patient, adaptable, and have a nurturing approach, helping pupils grow in confidence and achieve their full potential.
