Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of my clients French Operations division. With a strong focus on warehouse and stock management, this role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth planning, coordination, and execution of events. The successful candidate will oversee resources, staff, inventory, transportation, and timelines to deliver world-class service.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficient workflows for event execution.
- Liaise with project managers, account managers, and technical teams to align operational support with event requirements.
- Monitor project timelines and adjust resource allocations to meet deadlines.
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, loading / unloading, packing, and logistics.
- Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (WMS) for accurate asset tracking.
- Ensure proper storage, maintenance, and dispatch of equipment for events.
- Manage warehouse staff schedules, training, and performance.
- Coordinate delivery and collection schedules for event equipment and materials.
- Manage relationships with logistics partners, drivers, and transport teams.
- Develop contingency plans for logistical disruptions or last-minute changes.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations in both warehouse and on-site event environments.
- Maintain records of certifications, risk assessments, and safety checklists.
- Recruit, train, and manage warehouse and operational staff.
- Lead by example and encourage continuous improvement.
- Monitor budgets relating to warehouse and staffing.
- Track and report operational KPIs, damage / loss, and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations management within the events or exhibitions industry.
- Proven experience managing a warehouse environment, with strong knowledge of inventory systems and equipment handling.
- Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent logistical planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
