Description du poste

Organisation / Company Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 Department Electrical Engineering Laboratory Ampère Is the Hosting related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No

With 62laboratories and more than 7000 publications per year, and leading French university in terms of the number of patents filed in collaboration with industry, Lyon 1 contributes to scientific and innovation progress in numerous fields: health, mathematics, IT, physics, chemistry, earth and space sciences, life sciences, etc. Creator of emerging knowledge and new technologies, the University is consolidating its research excellence on a global and international level by developing inter- and multidisciplinary approaches targeting the major challenges facing today society.

Host research lab/team

Laboratoire Ampère focuses on the rational management and use of energy in systems while considering their environment. To that purpose, it develops disciplinary and trans-disciplinary activities through its three departments and six priorities. It covers the fields of automation for system engineering, bio-engineering and Electrical engineering.

Laboratoire Ampère is a joint research unit (UMR 5005) of CNRS, École Centrale de Lyon, INSA de Lyon and Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1. On 12/03/2024, it had 208 members, including 95 PhD students, 69 academics and an administrative and technical support staff of 23. The annual scientific production is approximately 90 journal articles and 120 conference communications, and is available at the following address: https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/AMPERE/search/index/?q=* .

CoSMa (Conversion, Storage and Machines) research team
  • The CoSMa (Conversion, Storage and Machines) research team aims at designing and optimising devices for the storage and conversion of electrical energy. It answers societal challenges by reducing the environmental footprint of electrical systems by favouring more eco-friendly materials, or by reducing the overall material need; improving efficiency in conversion and management of energy; improving the operating lifetime of devices, in particular those used for energy storage. In particular, concerning this hosting offer, it also aims at developing control strategies and modelling methodologies for conventional three-phase and modular electric motor drives.
Hosting Offer

The Ampère lab offers to host a MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship candidate (typically a post-doc of less than 8 years research experience since PhD defence), submitting an application to the next MSCA-2026-PF call for proposals (deadline 09th of September 2026), interested to work on the following research topic:

  • Modelling and control of multi-three phase electric drives
  • Development of modular electric drives experimental setup
  • Decentralised control of multi-source modular electric drives
  • Environmental Impact assessment of modular electric drive solutions

The fellowship could last for 12 to 36 months, depending on the type of Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Supervision

The successful Marie-Curie Post-doctoral fellow will be supervised by Antoine CIZERON, Assistant Professor at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL) and researcher at the Ampère Laboratory (UMR CNRS 5005) since 2023.

He received the Ph.D. degree in 2022 from Université Paris-Saclay at the Group of Electrical Engineering—Paris (GeePs, UMR CNRS 8507) and the SATIE Laboratory (UMR CNRS 8029). Since 2019, he has been conducting research in the field of modular electric drives, focusing on the modelling and control of these structures placing particular emphasis on experimentation. He has published six peer-reviewed scientific papers with over 50 citations.

Application Instructions

Make sure that you include the reference to this offer in the title of your email. Please attach a CV, a motivation letter, your MSc marks, as well as a 1 page research proposal.

Professional grant application support

Candidates will receive the support of the supervisors, as well as online training from a professional grant application company, and advices from successful applicants, to prepare and submit their application with the Ampère Laboratory as a host laboratory, to the next MSCA-PF call for proposals.
