Description du poste
Overview

We are looking for a Tunneling Project Manager to support our growing operations on international tunneling and microtunneling projects, expanding into North America, the Middle East and Africa, with over 15-20 worldwide projects per year. You will report to the Operations Director overseeing project activities. You will join a passionate and specialized team of around 100 professionals, including tunneling project engineers, site managers, foremen, tunnel boring machine operators and multi-skilled technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Independently supervise the project setup, including method selection, determining workforce and equipment needs, and scheduling execution plans.
  • Ensure project progress while respecting technical and budgetary constraints and respond to claims.
  • Prepare the project\'s preliminary budget in collaboration with the Operations Department and conduct monthly budget reviews.
  • Represent BESSAC in meetings with clients, project owners, design offices, subcontractors, and in written communications.
  • Negotiate and manage contractual agreements throughout the project\'s lifecycle.
  • Manage the project team functionally, focusing on efficiency and fostering collective performance.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety and environmental prevention plans.

It is a challenging program. Central teams such as Operations, Technical Services, Legal, HR, and Finance will support you as needed to ensure project success.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Typically hold a degree in Civil Engineering, Public Works, or Geotechnics, ideally with a specialization in tunneling or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of solid experience managing underground works, public works, or geotechnical projects, with exposure to design-build contracts.
  • Strong team management skills, with experience leading project teams composed of internal staff, partners, and locally recruited personnel in the countries where we operate.
  • Fluency in English is required due to the international nature of our activity.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a strong advantage; additional language skills are welcome.
Who This Position Is For

This role may require extensive travel and projects may be located far from urban areas, lasting several months. For example, we have completed microtunneling projects in the Chilean desert for the mining sector, in the Albanian mountains to supply gas to Europe, and along coastlines for outfall pipes or desalination plant supply.

If this environment aligns with your aspirations, consider opportunities within the VINCI Group.

Application Process
  • To apply, your CV is all that is needed.
  • First, a 30-minute phone interview with our recruitment team if your profile matches expectations.
  • Then a technical interview with the Operations Director.
  • If approved, a verbal offer followed by a detailed employment proposal outlining the full package.
  • Onboarding will follow.
Compensation & Benefits

The position is a permanent contract with current opportunities for international mobility in North America, the Middle East, and Africa. Salary to be defined based on experience, with expatriation benefits and VINCI Construction Group advantages.

Why BESSAC

With 50 years of experience, BESSAC specializes in the construction of tunnels and microtunnels for metros, water and sanitation works, and utility galleries. We also design and manufacture our own tunnel boring machines. BESSAC is a subsidiary of SOLETANCHE BACHY and part of the VINCI Construction Group. With a turnover of nearly €160 million, two-thirds of activity is international, with ongoing projects in Ivory Coast, Senegal, Canada, Colombia, Panama, Saudi Arabia, and more. Over 300 employees directly contribute to the company\'s growth. Our technical expertise is widely recognized, making BESSAC an ideal place to join the world of underground works. A strong family spirit thrives within the company, driven by experienced teams, long-standing employees, and a collaborative environment where everyone can envision their future and grow confidently.

You will contribute to major projects that directly impact lives in the countries where we operate: enabling metro transportation, improving energy access, or transforming seawater into drinking water. You will benefit from significant autonomy and decision-making power, allowing you to make a real impact on projects. You will participate in large-scale projects, working with multicultural teams and tackling complex technical challenges in an international context.
