Offer Description

The METHODS team of Centre for Research Epidemiology and Statistics (CRESS) is seeking a statistical engineer to contribute to the statistical work of the various METHODS projects (“EMULE” IRESP, “PRAIRIE” ANR, “NECESSITY” H2020, etc.).

Conduct data analyses within the framework of a research project.

Activities:

  • Identify and apply the most relevant existing statistical methods for specific datasets,
  • Develop customized programs to account for the specific features of a given statistical study,
  • Select and implement the most appropriate and efficient software tools for the study or project,
  • Contribute to the drafting of reports and synthesis documents presenting statistical analysis results,
  • Deliver presentations and training sessions to ensure knowledge transfer,
  • Implement advanced or innovative methods requiring adaptation of existing processes or programs,
  • Analyze complex datasets,
  • Perform numerical simulations and manage the large volumes of data generated.

Team:

The team METHODS ( Methods for therapeutic evaluation of chronic disease ) of CRESS, located at Hôtel-Dieu hospital in the center of Paris, is affiliated to Université Paris Cité and Inserm. It olfers a dynamic international research environment.

Skills/Qualifications

Required Knowledge :

  • Solid background in statistics or Machine Learning,
  • Proficiency in classical statistical methods in health research (e.g., logistic regression, Poisson regression, Cox models),
  • Experience in the statistical analysis of data from observational studies,
  • Proficiency in SAS, R, or Python.

Required Skills :

  • Ability to appropriately interpret the results of statistical analyses,
  • Capacity to learn and apply new statistical methods and tools,
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking scientific English,
  • Precision, organizational skills, and adherence to scientific deadlines
