• 8+ Jahre Erfahrung in der Datenbankadministration oder -technik mit Fokus auf Zuverlässigkeit.

Working in the tech team at Doctolib involves building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. We work in feature teams in an agile environment, while collaborating with product, design, and business teams.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer to join our Database Optimization team and play a critical role in preserving the performance of our databases.

The team is responsible for improving and protecting the health of our datastores and empowering the whole tech teams to use our datastores in the most efficient way. You will collaborate everyday with Database Architects, Principal Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Empower feature teams on database best practices.
2. Help break down our main PostgreSQL database (30TB) into smaller, more scalable databases.
3. Keep an eye on query performance and data modeling, and offer recommendations to feature teams on how to optimize it.
4. Set up monitoring and alerting to catch performance issues.
5. Perform maintenance tasks on our managed databases to enhance stability and improve performance.
6. Upskill the developers of your team.

Who you are

1. Have 8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or Engineer with a focus on reliability and scalability.
2. Have strong problem-solving skills, especially in identifying and rectifying database performance bottlenecks.
3. Have excellent communication skills, enabling efficient transmission of knowledge.
4. Have experience in mentoring junior engineers on database performance challenges (queries optimization and best practices).
5. Are eager to leverage your experience and skills to make your team and the whole Tech team grow.
6. Business fluent in English.

An added bonus if you:

1. Have been involved in Architecture choices for high traffic web applications, particularly scalability challenges on large databases.
2. Have experience with cloud-based environments and databases such as AWS Aurora PostgreSQL.
3. Have experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
4. Have experience with Change Data Capture ecosystems & technologies such as Kafka and Debezium.
