We are seeking a Senior Performance Test Architect to design, implement, and oversee comprehensive performance testing strategies across our organization. This expert role involves building frameworks that effectively validate system performance, scalability, and reliability while delivering actionable insights to enhance application performance.

As a leader, you will provide guidance on designing, implementing, and optimizing systems to meet performance requirements. The position combines deep technical knowledge with strategic vision to ensure applications and infrastructure perform efficiently at scale.

You\'ll contribute to several strategic workstreams: participate in strategic planning, improve the observability process and tools, mentor team members, advocate for best practices. Also you\'ll enable engineers across the company to conduct efficient performance evaluations and empower engineering teams for implementing optimal solutions and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise-level performance testing strategies, methodologies, and frameworks
• Create detailed performance test plans aligned with business requirements and technical constraints
• Architect complex performance testing environments that accurately simulate production loads
• Develop automated performance testing solutions that integrate with CI / CD pipelines
• Conduct capacity planning exercises to ensure systems meet future demand
• Evaluate and recommend performance testing tools and technologies

• Observability
• Identify appropriate performance metrics, KPIs, and acceptance criteria for various applications
• Identify the appropriate performance monitoring & observability tools
• Analyze performance test results to identify bottlenecks and provide optimization recommendations

• Collaboration
• Closely collaborate with development teams to implement performance assessments and improvements
• Establish performance testing standards, best practices, and guidelines
• Mentor performance testers and provide technical leadership
• Create and maintain performance testing documentation
• Lead performance test planning and execution for mission-critical systems

Education, Experience & Skills

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master\'s preferred)
• 10 + years of experience in performance testing and engineering
• 3+ years in an architectural role designing performance testing frameworks
• Strong expertise with industry-standard performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, Locust, Blazemeter...)
• Extensive knowledge of APM (Application Performance Monitoring) tools
• Experience with performance testing of cloud-based infrastructures (AWS)
• Experience with Distributed Architecture performance testing
• Proficiency in scripting languages
• CI / CD and automation (Jenkins, ArgoCD,)
• Strong understanding of databases (Oracle, Postgres), networks, and application servers
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to various stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps
• Certifications in performance testing or related fields
• Background in performance engineering and optimization
• Experience with AI / ML applied to system performance testing
• Experience with big volume data performance testing
