The Senior Product Manager for Transmission Communications is responsible for the strategy roadmap and lifecycle management of GE Vernova’s mission‑critical transmission communications portfolio. This includes optical multiplexers, Ethernet switches, teleprotection signalling equipment, and power‑line‑carrier devices that support protection control and high‑availability operational networks for transmission utilities and critical infrastructure. This role requires deep understanding of transmission architectures, substation automation, and telecom technologies used in high‑reliability environments.

Roles and Responsibilities
Portfolio & Solution Strategy
- Lead the end‑to‑end strategy and long‑term roadmap for the Transmission Communications portfolio.
- Identify evolving needs in transmission grids including protection redundancy schemes, IEC standards, cybersecurity, and digital substation modernization.
- Analyze markets, technology shifts, and competitive landscapes to define prioritized investments.
- Evaluate and influence inorganic growth opportunities including technology partnerships and acquisitions.
Product Leadership & Execution
- Lead product lifecycle of products including but not limited to:
- Optical multiplexers (SDH/SONET/OTN/Packet Optical)
- Industrial Ethernet switches
- Teleprotection signalling systems
- Power‑line‑carrier communication devices
- Translate customer insights and technical requirements into prioritized roadmaps and release plans.
- Pace product releases to ensure they are aligned with the relevant operating rhythms for the portfolio, including multi‑generation product plans, business plans, and NPI cycles.
- Define and monitor operational results for the portfolio including financials and market‑share objectives (orders, sales, CM) by region and market vertical.
- Lead the development and execution of the portfolio strategy including product lifecycle management, multigenerational product plans, market segmentation & positioning, go‑to‑market strategy, and pricing; in order to acquire new customers and grow the installed base. Own list pricing for the platforms and ensure the integrity of the On‑Line Store entries.
- Ensure the team is authoring and presenting at conferences, papers on the products and services use cases. Support Sales with in‑depth product knowledge and arbitrate on technical support issues capitalizing on team knowledge.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop Product Managers, Product Owners and interns.
- Establish disciplined product planning, prioritization and go‑to‑market processes.
- Drive cross‑functional alignment across Technology, GSC, Commercial and Marketing.
Commercial & Customer Engagement
- Lead product/solution launches value propositions and sales enablement.
- Support global commercial teams with positioning technical discussions and executive‑level engagements.
- Partner with GA Marketing & Strategy to develop messaging materials and campaign strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience leading product management, product marketing and/or technical development in the Utility/Industrial Communication segment.
- Strong understanding of transmission systems, substation automation, protection schemes and critical communications.
- Demonstrated experience working with global teams and customers.
Desired Characteristics

- Proven ability to analyze markets, build business cases, and define strategic roadmaps.
- Knowledge of teleprotection, optical networking, and utility communications standards.
