Qualifications

The headquarters of the AXA Group (GIE AXA) brings together our corporate activities. It provides guidance and support to subsidiaries around the world, to ensure the coordination and monitoring of the Group's global strategy, the application of its standards, the consistency of commercial approaches and the sharing of best practices. Within the Group, you will join the Group Finance department.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will join the Financial Controlling team, within the reporting and accounting department (PBRC). The Financial Controlling team is responsible for delivering reliable, consistent and insightful financial information on the Group’s operations, for the benefit of the Group’s Management, Board and external stakeholders (e.g. shareholders, debtholders, analysts, auditors and supervisors) as well as supporting the Group in the management of some key financial issues.

For this purpose, the Financial Controlling team is the owner of several critical financial reporting processes at Group level, involving the collection, review, consolidation and validation of the Group’s financial information. It is leading the production of internal and external financial reports, covering an extensive range of valuable information on the Group’s businesses, entities and broader financial position. It owns and orchestrates the IFRS financial closing process throughout the year, and is in charge of the preparation of the Group’s consolidated financial statements, Annual Report and various other external disclosures (e.g., Financial Supplement).

As a center of expertise on the Group’s financial reporting, it works closely with other Group Finance teams to play a key role in addressing the Group’s key financial challenges and strategic financial decisions, to support the delivery of the Group’s financial objectives.

Within the Financial Controlling team, four Geographical Poles are focusing on a sub-perimeter of entities to ensure deep understanding, trustful relationship and collaborative dialogue with the Group’s business units.

For the scope inclduing AXA SA, AXA Assistance, AXA Liability Managers, and AXA Group Operations, support the Deputy Head of Pole in the following tasks:

  • Analyze and comment the financial performance of the entity on a regular basis. Identify and analyze risks and uncertainties that may impact Group financial statements and targets as well as business performance.
  • Be an effective and trusted correspondent of the entity (ensure an effective and smooth coordination and regular communication, provide support and assistance, answer questions: ensure the entity understands and applies Group instructions, improve the quality, timeliness and efficiency of the entity reporting); get knowledge and understanding of the entity specificities, key products, and business orientations.
  • Act as the key go-between connecting the Group Finance senior management with local entities’ Finance teams, ensuring smooth communication between all stakeholders. Review and control all IFRS and CSRD data (actual and forecasts) submitted by the entity, control the compliance of the reported information with the Group instructions, timeline, and Group methodologies.
  • Assist the Group Audit process with internal and external auditors.
  • Solve IFRS accounting issues and non-GAAP treatment when applicable.

For transversal topics, support the Deputy Head of Pole in: (when applicable)

  • Analyze activity and earnings as well as CSRD indicators from a Group’s perspective across all geographies and preparing the reporting to Top Management.
  • Be the owner of the PBRC processes: ensure all deadlines are met and all deliverables are submitted on time with good quality (no process disruptions).
  • Review/check Group transversal reporting; review/check the press releases and the financial documents presented to the external analysts on a regular basis.
  • Define Group common guidelines, practices, instructions (ex: on Life and Savings reporting, on Property and Casualty reporting, on Expenses reporting) and ensure their correct application by entities.
  • Design & set up process improvements in his/her perimeter to secure efficiency and good coordination with entities/Group teams.
  • Actively contribute to Team’s performance and to the ongoing improvement of team’s processes and organisation.
YOUR PROFILE

Technical skills:

  • Strong business analysis and synthesis skills.
  • Good understanding of finance concepts and of the insurance business (Life and P&C, assets & liabilities, reinsurance).
  • Good accounting understanding and ability to understand actuarial practices (IFRS rules, consolidation techniques) will be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of PowerPoint and Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, modelling, pivot tables)
  • Experience in reporting tools (SAP Magnitude, Power BI) would be an advantage
  • Fluent in English and French.

Experience:

  • Master’s degree, University in Finance/Audit & Accounting/ Actuarial Studies.
  • 5-6 years of work experience as an actuary, financial controller, or auditor.
