Your role involves supporting scientific and technical client service teams, developing internal knowledge and technology assets, and building the firm’s external network. You will bring specialized knowledge to complex client and CST issues through part-time staffing on client projects with multidisciplinary teams.

You will lead proposal processes, participate in client negotiations, and identify opportunities to transform R&D and create solutions tailored to client needs. Additionally, you will contribute to scientific AI advancements, publish whitepapers and papers, and speak at top conferences.

You will establish an external network, enhance the firm’s reputation, and mentor junior colleagues to expand their scientific AI expertise. You will lead initiatives to scale our scientific AI services and improve their productivity and impact.

As part of McKinsey’s global scientific AI team, you will help revolutionize research and development in industries such as Life Sciences, Chemicals, Energy, Agriculture, and Sustainability. Your expertise in scientific disciplines (e.g., chemistry, medicine, biology, materials, physics) combined with AI/ML (deep learning, causal inference, foundation models) will help build McKinsey’s future capabilities to transform client innovation engines.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Delivering distinctive capabilities, knowledge, and insights through client work
• Leading the creation and dissemination of cutting-edge knowledge and proprietary assets
• Enhancing the firm’s reputation in your scientific area
• Possessing mastery in one or more scientific disciplines and staying current with latest research
• Understanding data sources, AI methods, and analytical technologies such as deep learning, causal inference, large language models, and computer vision

• Communicating technical methods effectively to non-technical stakeholders
