Senior Data Engineer - Remote in Europe

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer - Remote in Europe.

In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines and transformation workflows that support large-scale analytics and operational systems. You will work with cloud data warehouses, orchestration tools, and modern ETL frameworks to ensure data quality, reliability, and accessibility for multiple teams. Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, you will standardize best practices, optimize performance, and contribute to strategic data initiatives. Accountabilities
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines from internal databases and SaaS platforms using tools like Fivetran, Airbyte, or Python.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain transformation models with DBT, Redshift, Dagster, and related technologies.
  • Monitor and maintain cloud data warehouses, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and address data engineering needs.
  • Establish and enforce data engineering standards and best practices within the team.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for pipelines, workflows, and data processes.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience deploying code in production environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with DBT for transformation pipelines.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and data warehousing concepts.
  • Practical experience with ETL design and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or Kestra.
  • At least 4 years of experience with cloud data warehouse platforms.
  • Fluent in English with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Bonus: Experience with AWS (Redshift), Dagster, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), or infrastructure tools like Docker, Terraform, Helm.
