🎯 About the position

The position is based in Lille. Our working policy allows 2 days of remote work by week. You will work from 12:00 to 20:00 and from Wednesday to Sunday as Risk and Fraud Officer.

The Operations team is responsible for setting up and managing the processes to provide merchants and customers with the best buy now pay later experience, and to handle the risk and fraud operations.

Practically, this means :

  • Supporting customers and merchants: we are there to accompany them when they are using Alma, and their feedbacks allow us to improve the product;
  • Managing debt collection actions from start to finish: our role is to reduce the late and default rates to guarantee the company's margin;
  • Looking after new merchants during the on-boarding process and ensuring that they are able to install the Alma solution as quickly and as easily as possible;
  • Continuously improving customer scoring (both automated and manual scoring), to allow a maximum of users to pay without friction whilst minimising fraud and losses from bad debt;
  • Thwarting fraud attempts from both merchants and customers on a daily basis.
  • Investigate in line with procedures impacted by legal and regulatory LCB-FT regulations.

In this high-growth environment, monitoring the activity and behavior of merchants and Customers we work with is crucial in reducing our financial and reputational risk. You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze payments to ensure they comply with Alma's general terms and conditions of use,
  • Manage alerts for unusual behavior, risk of default, or fraudulent situations.
  • Detect false documents as part of KYC and KYB management,
  • Detecting patterns of fraud in connection with the LCB-FT or AML CFT
  • Conduct in-depth research into consumer payments when there is a suspicion of fraud.
  • Monitor payment activity by analyzing sales volumes, default rates, and other indicators relevant to detecting fraud attempts.
  • Establish reports to identify fraud patterns and continuously improve our control processes.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on risk management issues, including Customer Operations, Consumer Operations, the Fraud & Risk Team, and P&E.
  • Be the point of contact for any risk-related subjects for our consumers during the different lifecycle stages of our products.
