Description du poste

The NUTRIPSY team at NUTRINEURO is hiring.

The qualifications sought for this position correspond to those of a Research Engineer in Behavioral Neurobiology. The mission of the engineer will be to participate in a project funded by Bordeaux Neurocampus and the Brain Research Foundation on the role of the gut-brain axis in the effects of early-life stress on anxiety-related behaviors. The project will explore the effects of early-life stress in mice on emotional behaviors, brain inflammation, and hippocampal excitation/inhibition balance. Transgenic models with altered expression of a protein regulating tight junctions opening in the intestinal epithelium will allow investigation into the role of “leaky gut” in behavioral and brain alterations.

The candidate will be involved in all stages of the project and will conduct behavioral testing in mice. Tasks will include administering early-life stress; testing animals using behavioral paradigms; and contributing to neurobiological studies (electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, FACS). The work will require the use of the following techniques: behavioral testing; systemic injections; programming and computer control of experiments and protocols; data collection, analysis, and formatting; and writing experimental reports.

Desired prerequisites: Level 1 animal experimentation certification as well as training in small animal surgery and practical experience in the field of behavioral neuroscience. Proficiency in immunohistochemistry techniques. Expertise in electrophysiology is a plus.
