R&D Study Technician in Analytical Chemistry

JOB SCOPE:

Support innovation by engaging directly in R&D programs, developing and anticipating analytical methods needed for R&D, participating in competitive analyses, and supporting operations and quality departments in solving production issues and defining new materials or defects.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide high-level analytical services using advanced techniques such as GC chromatography and FTIR spectroscopy for identification and quantification.
• Analyze raw materials, finished lenses, and competitor lenses.
• Monitor and maintain analytical equipment, especially GC chromatography systems.
• Write, archive, and manage analysis reports in Word or PowerPoint, stored in the R&D Aodocs system (in French or English).
• Expand expertise to other techniques like HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, EDX, AFM, etc., available in the laboratory.
• Subcontract or identify external labs for TEM, NMR, GC, and LC analyses.
• Gradually take charge of specific studies or R&D programs.

CANDIDATE'S PROFILE:

• Higher National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemical Analytical fields.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in analytical chemistry, especially GC chromatography and NMR.
• Experience in maintaining and monitoring GC techniques and laboratory chemistry methods.
• Data analysis skills in an analytical profile.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluent in English and French.
• Strong innovation mindset, adaptable, proactive, and open-minded.
• Willing to learn and handle challenges in a dynamic environment, capable of implementing new solutions.
