Primary Purpose of the Role:

The purpose of this job is to provide overall strategic direction and leadership of a specific project or projects. It requires the excellent management of the relationships with internal and customer stakeholders. As project manager, this person will be responsible for delivering projects against existing contractual obligations, on time, within budget, and fully compliant with requirements and regulations. The project manager will manage and coordinate with a multi‑functional project team, ensuring

  • the work is structured,
  • resources and their responsibilities are allocated,
  • work is robustly scheduled,
  • budgets are assigned and managed,
  • risks and opportunities are identified and mitigated/capitalised,
  • the project status is well understood and briefed to management and the customer,
  • and a relentless focus on delivery and customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Principal Relationships:

Reports to the Programme Director (Manager 1) and the Sector Lead (Manager 2). Interfaces with senior management teams (bid and project teams and managers, domain, BL and GBU leadership teams). Interfaces with senior stakeholder and customer representatives (internal and external to Thales). Interfaces with other PMs and leaders within the Sector, Product Programme Managers, Functional Heads, the IAS UK and Thales UK Executive teams.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Apply leadership and direction to ensure the successful delivery of the project (or projects). This will typically include (but is not limited to) the following:

  • Assume ultimate accountability for specific projects.
  • Monitor and control the performance of the programme using effective planning methodologies and appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Report at senior business level on the performance of project and bid delivery.
  • Ensure a programme‑wide strategy and vision is developed, maintained and well‑communicated.
  • Provide strategic organisational, market and business context to drive the successful outcomes of the projects.
  • Be the overall point of reference to ensure that key relationships are being effectively managed and that vital customer, industry and business knowledge and networks are being effectively utilised to deliver the projects.
  • Work across organisational boundaries to ensure that best practice and consistency in project management is being applied.
  • Provide pro‑active advice and direction to the project and bid management community within the programme.
  • The role will also involve occasional ad‑hoc duties that are not listed above but are necessary to respond to the needs of the business. These ad‑hoc duties will be consistent with the nature of a leadership position within Thales.
  • Maintain an effective strategic relationship with the relevant product teams.

  • Budget management – margin and revenue maintained.
  • Planning – Delivery schedule maintained.
  • Quality – Metrics available demonstrating adherence to Quality plan.

  • Native Ukrainian & English fluent is required.

  • Experience in communicating and collaborating with MoD.
  • Management of complex supply chains, multi‑entity delivery, and industrial cooperation.
  • Ex‑Military background will be a value addition.
