Project Engineer – Toulouse – Contract – Life Sciences

Our client, a global (bio)pharmaceutical manufacturing organization, is recruiting for a Project Engineer to join them on their new expansion project. Based in Toulouse, France, this is a contractual role focused on significantly increasing the site’s capacity for biologics manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with key stakeholders to ensure project SHE objectives, goals, and KPIs are clearly defined and agreed upon.
  2. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and the project team to serve as the single point of contact for engineering SHE, ensuring targets and requirements are understood and met.
  3. Verify that the project team has received appropriate SHE training (onboarding plan) to meet standards and expectations.
  4. Collaborate with local SHE teams and the client to incorporate site experience and requirements into the design.
  5. Work with the Design Manager to assess the SHE impact of design changes.
  6. Coordinate with the Construction SHE Lead regarding safe start-up and pre-start-up safety reviews.
  7. Assist the Project Technical Manager in selecting suitable SHE study contractors.
  8. Oversee the delivery of safety studies and identify any additional scope required. Review safety studies conducted by contractors or vendors (e.g., ATEX, relief calculations, machinery safety), acting as the “intelligent customer”.
  9. Share deliverables with relevant client and project team members for review and approval to ensure SHE studies are of high quality and outcomes are integrated into the design.

Requirements:
