A global engineering firm is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability and availability of equipment through maintenance activities. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience, including 5 years offshore, with mandatory hands-on experience with Wellhead Control Panels. Candidates must be fluent in English and capable of working effectively in diverse teams. This position offers a long-term contract with an attractive daily rate, insurance coverage, and expat-standard accommodation.

Qualifications

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician – Instrument at SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC in Doha, Qatar.

Job Purpose

To optimize the reliability and availability of equipment under area of responsibility through completing maintenance activities in accordance with NOC approved operation procedures, guidelines, legislative requirements and industry best practice.

Responsibilities
  • To optimize the reliability and availability of equipment under area of responsibility through completing maintenance activities in accordance with NOC approved operation procedures, guidelines, legislative requirements and industry best practice.
  • Identify opportunities and champion initiatives that enable maximum production and injection output within the parameters of environmental compliance and process safety.
  • Provide Team Lead with regular reports with analysis and comment on performance and results and be held accountable for area of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties, functional teams and corporate groups as required to meet NOC strategic business and operational objectives.
  • Contribute to improvements, development and implementation of department activities, processes and procedures.
  • Complete safe and efficient replacement and repair activities in the event of failure or malfunction ensuring quick restoration; troubleshoot malfunctions and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Optimize production and uptime when executing maintenance activities which require shut down / isolation or equipment.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and report repetitive equipment failures.
  • Prepare adequate documentation and reporting for offshore management consideration regarding wrong design, poor workmanship, non‑compliance to NOC standards; take appropriate action within level of Authority.
  • Contribute to identifying improvements to planned maintenance routines.
Qualifications
  • Graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three‑year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on‑field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.
  • Hands‑on experience with Wellhead Control Panels is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
  • Familiarity with international safety standards and offshore work practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Fluent in English with both written and verbal communication.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum level of experience required: 6 years or more.
  • Required authorisations: Fit to work.
  • Languages: English (C-Professional working proficiency).
