Yubo is a live social discovery app launched in 2015, with the ambition to create a space where Gen Z can belong, feel safe and make friends. With more than 70 million users worldwide across 140 countries, we celebrate the true essence of being young, and make it easy to connect with others wherever you are.
We are a French Tech company, part of the Next120, and our mission is to inspire and enable a new generation to find out about the world and themselves. Yubo’s business model is different from other social networks: in-app purchases and subscriptions. Yubo’s growth relies on paid UA, not virality. Our objective is to become the safest social app in the world. Safety is at the core of our DNA, and we have developed and implemented a wide range of safeguards in the app, and we work with industry bodies, NGOs and charities to set high child protection standards.
Responsibilities
- As a Lead Tech Android, you:
- Guarantee the quality of the code base (make tech choices, review PR, choose SDKs, achi, etc.)
- Support the team in its skills development (mentoring, sharing, code review, peer prog)
- Work on features early (kick-off, reading spe, adjustment, etc.)
- Participate in the tech roadmap creation and process
Technical & Mindset Prerequisites
- Professional background: > 8 years
- Start-up / Scale-up
- Specific knowledge: Have worked on a high-volume consumer applications
- > 1 year experience as a team leader
- Must have: Kotlin, Coroutines or Compose
- Nice to have: Amplitude or other monitoring tool
- Ability to set-up and drive processes
- Soft skills: Passionate, Good communicator, Ability to listen, Adaptability
