A technology research organization in Saclay is offering an internship focused on Runtime Root-Cause Analysis for Intelligent Robots via Causal AI Techniques. The candidate will explore causal AI methods to enhance robotic resilience and autonomy. Applicants should have a strong background in Python and be pursuing a Master’s degree in computer science or robotics. A collaborative and interdisciplinary environment is expected. Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of French is not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data analysis and machine learning libraries.
  • Familiarity with probabilistic modelling and Bayesian networks, including causal inference techniques.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and GitLab is an advantage.

Responsabilités

  • Conduct a survey of causal AI techniques relevant for runtime RCA in robots.
  • Select appropriate approaches based on modeling assumptions for simulated scenarios.
  • Choose an open-source software framework for implementing selected approaches.
  • Conduct experiments in simulated setups to analyze performance.
  • Implement a ROS 2 stack to integrate runtime RCA capabilities.
