ANR Co3Dicology project
Project overview
The Co3Dicology project (Investigating the Codicology of Medieval Bookbindings through Digital Imaging) aims to deepen our understanding of the historical evolution of medieval French bookbindings. It combines traditional codicological approaches with advanced digital imaging technologies (3D imaging, photogrammetry, RTI) to document the physical structure of manuscripts. The objective is to catalogue approximately 800 medieval bindings preserved in France and to integrate the collected data into the IRHT’s BIBALE database.
This project is based on a consortium of researchers and engineers from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (HiCSA) and the Institut de Recherche et d'Histoire des Textes (IRHT-CNRS), in collaboration with several heritage libraries.
