Role

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Group Global Category Director, the Group Regional Category Manager is accountable for the overall procurement performance on his scope (CMA CGM and CEVA).

Responsibilities
  • Define categories and supplier base strategies, in close liaison with the Global Category Director.
  • Manage a team of 5 category buyers.
  • Develop on his category scope annual spend reduction plans (supplier prices reduction and internal demand optimization), ensuring the activation of all possible performance levers: value analysis, cost breakdown, supplier base rationalization, country synergies, benchmarking, near-/offshoring, etc.
  • Leverage all possible CMA CGM group synergies.
  • Lead all key Request for Proposal (RFP) processes (RFP strategies and supplier selection) in close collaboration with business owners / stakeholders.
  • Implement internal working groups, aiming at identifying cost-saving opportunities and disruptive business model changes to generate additional savings.
  • Identify all potential synergies across countries and other CEVA regions (Europe, Latam, APAC, IMEA): multi-country RFPs, supplier base rationalization.
  • Monitor suppliers' risk: financial health, CSR, compliance, dependency; develop corrective actions when necessary.
Main KPIs
  • Spend reduction (hard savings & cost avoidance, suppliers price reduction & demand optimization).
  • Number of annual innovation committees with strategic suppliers.
Qualifications
  • Experience 7-10 years in industrial or indirect procurement.
