A leading mobility innovation provider is seeking a strategic purchasing professional to ensure alignment with supply chain strategies. The role requires a Master’s degree, at least 6 years of purchasing experience, and excellent negotiation and analytical skills. Responsibilities include driving purchasing performance, developing category strategies, and managing supplier relationships. Missions
  • Ensure Purchasing domain strategy is fully aligned to meet the function Supply Chain strategy and priorities for a Total Cost of Ownership impact.
  • Drive Purchasing performance for the commodities of the Domain either by acting directly or by influencing / managing actors in all Regions and in all OPmobility entities.
  • Pursue Excellence across all dimensions of Domain management, incl.
    • Domain strategy
    • Processes, systems & tools
    • People & organization (together with Group SC Performance Director)
    • Total cost of ownership optimization resulting from implementing domain strategies which are aligned with functions strategies
    • Working Capital Optimization resulting from Inventory Reduction & Payment Term Optimization
    • Contribution to OPmobility’s carbon reduction roadmap
    • Complexity management, e.g. consolidation of spend with strategic supplier panel
    • Data integrity, e.g. correct qualification of suppliers and correct classification of spend according to purchasing taxonomy
    • Internal Customer Satisfaction
Activities

Develop together with business functions and implement category strategies for the Domain:

  • Spend analysis
  • Supply market analysis
  • Business needs
  • Identification of sourcing levers
  • Benchmarking (internal & external)
  • Supplier panel management (strategic and tactical criteria, entry and exit, …)

Plan, structure and execute cross‑BG sourcings in close collaboration with internal stakeholders:

  • Collect and analyze data
  • Optimize and agree on specifications
  • Issue Requests for Information (RfI) and Request for Quotation (RfQ)
  • Conduct negotiations
  • Prepare sourcing decisions (Pre‑RfQ and Sourcing Committee)
  • Finalize contracts

Animate the identification and implementation of cost savings initiatives for the Domain:

  • Initiate cross‑BG cost savings initiatives and workshops
  • Drive the implementation from idea status to realized status
  • Supplier Relationship Management with top suppliers of the Domain
    • GEMBA visit of suppliers’ premises. Organization of suppliers’ day, participation to fairs…
    • Regular performance evaluation and reviews with top suppliers of the Domain
    • Lead escalation process in case of supply problems

Identify and implement actions to improve OPmobility’s competitive position with regards to the Domain:

  • Improve efficiency of processes and systems used in the context of the Domain
  • Develop the organization and support the development of talent for the Domain
Qualification & Competencies requirements
  • Master’s degree (Technical + Business Education preferred)
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic purchasing or a similar role, in an International/multicultural environment. Background in operational supply chain (Transport, Packaging, Warehouse) is required for the SC domain.
  • Ability to design and deploy powerful category strategies, in line with Group strategic objectives
  • Strong experience in leading complex contract negotiations and supplier management.
  • Capacity to streamline processes and tools
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
  • Knowledge of financial mechanisms (P&L, budgeting process, etc.). Ability to analyze financial data, perform cost analysis and make recommendations for decision‑making
  • Mastery of procurement practices.
  • For SC domain: a sound knowledge of Transport & warehouse operations & if possible, Packaging is required
  • Strong Leadership and Change Management skills, capacity to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Clear and effective communication to convey procurement strategies and decisions to various stakeholders
  • Fluent in English (other languages such as Spanish appreciated)
