The Role

Leading experienced Australian and locally engaged teams, the General Manager International, Europe, Middle East and Africa is a member of a global network that reports to the Austrade Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Trade and Investment who is based in Australia. Working with counterparts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Australian state and territory Governments, the role is responsible for:

• Contributing to Australia’s global reputation by promoting Australian capability in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region using global objectives and priorities to guide local strategy.
• Leading sector-focused trade teams responsible for assisting Australian companies achieve commercial trade outcomes.
• Advancing Australia’s strengths as a highly attractive destination for investors and securing productive foreign investment into Australia.
• Representing Austrade and Australia in a range of high-level corporate and government settings in Australia and across the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
• As a member of the senior management team, the General Manager will work collaboratively to deliver the Australian Government’s trade and investment priorities and contribute to Austrade’s broader strategic objectives.

Eligibility

• Australian Citizenship – Our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.
• Language Proficiency – Our successful candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English. Fluency in one or more European languages is desirable.
• Security Clearance – Our successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 2 security clearance.
