We are seeking a Financial Controller (F/H) to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will take ownership of accounting, tax, and cash management activities across approximately nine entities located in various European countries. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting the growth of our international operations.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial operations of nine Questel entities: six in Germany, two in Switzerland, and one in Slovenia.
  • Organize and supervise accounting processes and production of financial information: local statutory annual accounts and monthly management accounts for the Group reporting.
  • Ensure compliance in accounting and tax aspects (relying on external support of a professional tax firm in each country).
  • Organize annual audits and ensure their successful completion in line with Group requirements, maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
  • Supervise and improve cash management.
  • Supervise and optimize the Accounts Payables cycle.
  • Contribute to ERP and other systems deployment in the subsidiaries under your responsibility.
  • Implement internal control procedures and mitigate risk exposure of the subsidiaries.
  • Actively optimize accounting processes in terms of quality and productivity.
  • Manage and develop team members in the accounting department (5 direct reports / around 20 people overall located in different countries).
  • Implement a strong coordination with the Group Financial team and lead group projects in the entities under your supervision.

The perfect match

  • Master’s degree or university studies in finance, accounting and/or business administration.
  • 10+ years professional experience in a similar position (Head of Finance, Finance manager) or in an audit firm.
  • Experience in a multinational environment with group policy, reporting, deadlines, frequent communication.
  • Knowledge of German GaaP would be a serious advantage, but not a must have.
  • Knowledge of IFRS.
  • Knowledge of ERP software (Exact / Netsuite / Other).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent English, German is a plus, French is a plus but not compulsory.
  • Rigorous, autonomous, and highly organized.
  • Demonstrates rigor, autonomy, and strong organizational skills.
  • Adapts quickly and efficiently to changing environments.
  • Possesses advanced Excel proficiency and is comfortable with new financial and IT systems.
  • Exhibits strong analytical capabilities and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Proactively drives process improvements and contributes to operational excellence.
