SPIE Global Service Energy is currently hiring for a Commissioning Supervisor – Mechanical for an onshore project in Basra, Iraq.

This is a rotational role - 28/28.

Job Purpose

Lead and supervise commissioning and start-up activities related to mechanical systems on the onshore oil & gas project. Ensure commissioning tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supervise commissioning of mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating/static equipment).
  • Plan and coordinate mechanical commissioning activities with the team.
  • Ensure mechanical commissioning procedures and HSE standards are applied.
  • Lead troubleshooting and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Verify mechanical completion and ensure systems are ready for start-up.
  • Manage punch list clearance and documentation for handover.
  • Report status and progress to the Commissioning Manager.
Profile

Requirements:

  • Iraqi national from Basra region.
  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in mechanical commissioning in the oil & gas industry.
  • Knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, rotating/static equipment, and piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Proven leadership and coordination skills.
  • Strong commitment to HSE practices.
