A leading research organization in France is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in particle physics. The successful candidate will work on flavor sector theory and phenomenology, engage with Belle‑II and LHCb experiments, and require expertise in Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) phenomenology. Fluency in English and a Ph.D. are essential. This role offers a full-time contract with an expected start date of Fall 2026.
Organisation/Company: CNRS, Department Laboratoire de physique des 2 infinis - Irène Joliot-Curie. Research Field: Physics. Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2). Country: France.
Application Deadline: 12 Jan 2026 - 00:00 (UTC). Type of Contract: Temporary. Job Status: Full‑time. Hours Per Week: 35. Offer Starting Date: 1 Oct 2026. Funding: Not funded by an EU programme. Staff Position within a Research Infrastructure: No.
The Theory Pole of the IJCLab opens a call for a postdoctoral position application. The fellowship is funded by CNRS IN2P3 (Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules) for a duration of two years, starting in the Fall 2026. The appointment is foreseen in the area of particle physics; applicants with expertise in Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) phenomenology, model building, and flavour physics (leptons & quarks) in the SM and beyond are invited to apply. At the starting date, applicants should already hold a Ph.D. and preferably have some postdoctoral experience (up to 3 years).
The successful candidate is expected to work on particle physics theory and phenomenology in the flavor sector, in connection with current experiments at Belle‑II and LHCb, as well as various experiments in the lepton sector.
The Irène Joliot‑Curie Physics Laboratory of 2 Infinities (IJCLab) is a UMR under the supervision of the CNRS (IN2P3), the University of Paris‑Saclay and the University of Paris. It is located on the campus of the Université Paris‑Sud, Université Paris‑Saclay in Orsay, 20 km south of Paris and easily accessible by RER in 35 min. IJCLab was created in 2020 from the merger of five units (CSNSM, IMNC, IPN, LAL, LPT). The staff is made up of nearly 560 permanent (340 engineers, technicians and administrators and 220 researchers and teacher‑researchers) and approximately 200 non‑permanent including 120 doctoral students. The research themes of the laboratory are nuclear physics, high energy physics, theoretical physics, astroparticles, astrophysics and cosmology, particle accelerators, energy and the environment and health. IJCLab has very significant technical capacities (around 280 IT) in all the major fields required to design, develop/implement the experimental devices necessary for its scientific activity, as well as the design, development and use of instruments. The researcher will work on the Flavor Physics team of the Theory pole of IJCLab, with possible transverse activities with the QCD and BSM groups. IJCLAB bases its recruitment policy on the promotion of equality, diversity, and inclusion. These core values support the professional development of staff, who are key contributors to collective success, as well as the growth and development of the laboratory itself.
The application requires a short CV, a research statement (2 pages max) and a list of publications, in a single pdf file, to be submitted via the CNRS portal. Applicants should also arrange for 2 or 3 (at most) letters of reference to be submitted, before 10/12/2025, to postdoc.th.ijclab.in2p3@gmail.com indicating in the subject line « Name-of-the-applicant-Postdoc TH-ANR 2026 ». Closing date for the receipt of applications: 10/12/2025.
