A leading engineering services company seeks a Business Development Director to drive client sales in Energy and Plant Engineering. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in solutions selling, exceptional negotiation skills, and established relationships at C-level. Fluency in French is mandatory. This position allows for remote work with some travel required to Paris.

  • Established contacts and relationships at C-level, VP, and Director levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in revenue growth.

Reporting Line

Role reports to Global Sales of Energy, remote work permissible. Initially 30-40% time required in Paris.

Job Purpose

Drive new client sales in Energy and Plant Engineering unit. Focus on selling Engineering Services (mechanical & electrical, hardware & software), Digital Solutions (IoT & Analytics), Business Support Services.

Key Result Areas – Francophone Countries
  • Develop a pipeline of customers and build relationships
  • Leverage sales force and drive lead generation
  • Drive revenue growth and profitability
  • Drive business proposals (technical & commercial)
  • Negotiate contracts, MSA and commercial pricing
  • Collaborative leadership with delivery, sales, pre-sales and marketing organizations
  • Drive followership and lead by example
Must haves
  • Read, write and speak fluent French
  • 10+ years in metrics-driven solutions selling into heavy Engineering industry
  • Established contacts and relationships at C-level, VP, and Director levels
  • Clearly demonstrated experience in revenue growth
  • Strong negotiations background
  • Driven complex technical business proposals
  • Deal flow – structure deals, legal contracts, master service agreements
  • Built eco-system partnerships to drive revenue growth
Specific skill set
  • Fundamental understanding of all phases of project and plant engineering, IoT & Analytics
  • Knowledge of Sustainable Energy, Oil & Gas and Power Plant industry practices and market trends (preferred)
Requirements
  • Bachelors or Master (preferred) degree in engineering or business discipline
  • Strong networking, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent professional presentation skills
  • Ability to successfully work on a multinational and multicultural basis
  • Travel international and domestic up to 50% – requires time in the Reuil Malmaison office
