Mission

The Blow Molding Process Engineer is responsible to participate in the blow molding process of the assigned programs ensuring process quality. He/she continuously improves trial efficiency to reduce development cost. He deploys solutions on the production machines to improve performance, quality control, repeatability and safety.

Responsibilities
  • He/she has authority to stop machines in case of immediate risk.
  • Consciously accept safety training, actively participate in safety activities and comply with safety regulations.
  • Report unsafe status and behaviours in time, and actively participate in safety improvement.
  • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate to ensure the product blowing feasibility through DFM&A and PFMEA during the product design phase.
  • Participate to define the technical specification for prototype and serial production tooling to supplier for quotation.
  • Participate to validate the supplier’s design proposition.
  • Whenever necessary, follow the molding equipment manufacturing, manage the supplier and make the tool acceptance.
  • Participate to the blowing trial preparation, pilot the blowing trial and make the trial synthesis for the prototype or serial blowing tools.
  • During the blowing trial, define and validate the blowing process parameter to get the blowing liner shell confirmed with product specification, and a stable production process.
  • Perform the basic process training for plant technician and operators.
  • Define the tool modifications in collaboration with the tooling engineer in order to meet the product requirements and process performance.
  • According to the requirement of plant, ensure the technical support for productivity, quality, process and safety problem. Participate in the analysis of quality and safety issue.
  • In collaboration with the blow‑molding machine manager, define blow‑molding machines improvements in order to optimize their performance (safety, cycle time, quality supervision, repeatability, mechanical robustness, PLC programme improvements, HMI improvements, etc…) and minimise the change‑over time.
  • Perform the blow‑molding machines PLC programme improvements in collaboration with the supplier (keep informed), with proper records and follow‑up.
  • Implement and/or programme devices on the machines (sensors, cameras, etc…) to improve the quality control and the performance of the process.
  • Participate in the creation of new training module and POAI standard.
  • Must successfully complete all POAI required training.
  • Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures.
  • Other things assigned by his direct manager.
  • Within his/her scope of responsibility, he/she respects the standards and rules in terms of Quality, Safety and Environment contributing to the IMS process management and improvement.
Profile
  • Bachelor or equivalent major in plastic processing or mechanical design.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of blow‑molding engineering and/or automation support on blow‑molding machines or other similar industrial equipment.
  • Experience in development and implementation of industrial solutions on production machines.
  • Mastery of blow moulding technology and process.
  • Good level of automation (TIA Portal).
  • Basic knowledge of metal material (Ex: aluminium, steel, bronze…), automation & hydraulic & pneumatic.
  • Strong troubleshooting skill. Knowledge of mould design, manufacturing, treatment, casting technology.
  • Good network with plant and other technical centre.
  • Good communication skill with internal & external interface.
  • Good team spirit and well cooperate with peers and colleague.
