Key Requirements
We are seeking a qualified and experienced international arbitration lawyer with demonstrable
expertise in both arbitration proceedings and arbitration-related court litigation.
Essential qualifications and experience :
- Qualification as a solicitor or barrister.
- 3-5 years post-qualification experience in international arbitration and related litigation.
- Practical experience in arbitration-related court proceedings, including applications for anti-
- suit injunctions, set-aside proceedings, and enforcement of arbitral awards.
- Familiarity with CPR procedures and practices applicable in the English courts.
- A strong academic background, ideally including postgraduate legal education.
Core skills and competencies :
- Strong drafting skills, with the ability to prepare persuasive and well-structured written
- submissions.
- Proven ability to analyse complex legal and factual issues, and to develop and implement
- Solid understanding of the principal international arbitration rules and procedural
- frameworks.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members during drafting, research, or
- Excellent communication and client handling skills, with confidence liaising directly with
- clients, tribunals, experts, and opposing counsel.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes matters.
Role & Responsibilities
As an Associate, you will play a central role in advising and representing clients in high-profile, multi-
jurisdictional disputes involving transnational commercial contracts and investment treaties.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Advising clients on procedural requirements under the CPR and court practices.
- Leading elements of case preparation, including developing legal strategy and case theory in collaboration with partners.
- Taking a lead role in drafting complex written submissions, and coordinating input from more junior lawyers as appropriate.
- Managing large-scale document review and legal research processes.
- Assisting in the preparation of witness and expert evidence, including strategic assessments and procedural compliance.
- Liaising directly with clients, witnesses, experts, tribunals, courts, and opposing counsel throughout all stages of proceedings.
- Ensuring all work meets the firm’s exacting standards of excellence, efficiency, and professionalism.
