Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, managing project documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate possesses 1–2 years of experience in commercial construction focusing on doors and hardware, along with strong communication and organizational skills. This position offers a full-time contract with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Summary

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning, executing, and finalizing commercial construction projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. The APM will also assist in defining project objectives and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle, with a specific focus on doors and hardware.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Project Manager in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinating project activities and ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Communicating with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress.
  • Managing project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Monitoring project progress and addressing issues or delays promptly.
  • Supporting the procurement process, including obtaining quotes and preparing purchase orders.
  • Participating in project meetings and preparing meeting minutes.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Various other project management tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a focus on doors and hardware.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software is a plus.
