Location: Exotrail's Massy office
Department: In-Orbit Services
Reports To: AIT Team Leader
Employment Type: Full-time

Context

At Exotrail, we develop and integrate electric propulsion solutions, satellite platforms, and mission software to revolutionize access to space and in-orbit mobility. The AIT (Assembly, Integration & Test) team is responsible for the integration, functional validation, and environmental testing of our space systems. We are hiring a V&V Software Engineer to strengthen our AIT department’s software capabilities. You will be responsible for ensuring software and embedded systems reliability through rigorous and automated testing campaigns.

As part of the AIT (Assembly, Integration and Test) and IVV (Integration, Verification and Validation) team, you will be responsible for the preparation, execution, and follow-up of system test campaigns in close coordination with the Systems, Software, and Quality teams. Your main responsibilities include:

Define and validate test plans (test plan, procedures, test cases) according to ECSS (e.g., ECSS-E-ST-10-02, ECSS-Q-ST-10) and NASA Procedural Requirements (e.g., NPR 7120.5, NPR 7123.1) standards.

Ensure traceability of requirements (via RTM – Requirements Traceability Matrix) and coverage through tests, in line with V&V models (Validation and Verification).

Design and execute automated test procedures, including development of scripts (Python, Bash, TCL...) for test benches and simulators.

Supervise software/hardware integration and manage software versioning during test campaigns.

Set up and apply software engineering best practices:
- Configuration management (CM – Configuration Management),
- Version management and control (Git, SVN),
- Anomalies management and tracking,
- CI/CD (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) when relevant.

Maintain a controlled configuration of our test environments ensuring coherence between software versions, data sets, procedures, and hardware setups.

Participate to the project reviews (TRR – Test Readiness Review, QR – Qualification Review, TRB – Test Review Board, VCB – Verification Control Board, etc.) and to transversal validation activities.

Write test deliverables:
- Test Reports,
- NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports),
- RIDA (Review Item Discrepancy and Action),
- Validation Reports.

Provide technical mentorship to the less experienced members of the AIT team, supporting their skills development on test methods, tools, and best practices, with a focus on continuous improvement and knowledge capitalization.

Desired Profile
Technical Skill

Proven experience (5+ years) in AIT / IVV environments, ideally within the space sector or other critical embedded systems domains.

Proficiency with tools and methods for functional and environmental testing (electrical, RF – Radio Frequency, thermal, mechanical).
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) for test automation and equipment control.
Mastery of configuration management and software version control tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
Familiarity with test and requirement management platforms (e.g., DOORS, TestRail, Redmine, Jenkins).
