Team Head IT Application Management 100% (f/m/d)
Madrid

In the context of BJB captive nearshoring (BJB owned nearshore facility that handles specific business and IT-related functions – BizDevOps), we are looking for a skilled and experienced IT Team Lead to help us build up the captive in Madrid while reporting to our HQ in Switzerland responsible for agile delivery. You will lead and coordinate a team of IT professionals, striving for overall efficiency by standardizing processes to enable the captive to scale and grow over time. You will offer support and guidance locally and collaborate closely with the HQ in Switzerland, including our CoE Heads.

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as the local Team Head for a diverse team in Spain, including Scrum Masters, Application Engineers, Application Operation Managers, Tester Engineers, and Requirements Engineers.
• Lead and coordinate the team, providing guidance and support while embodying BJB values and promoting an ethical, trust-based environment.
• Create a supportive environment for your team members, fostering a culture of openness and collaboration.
• Promote a modern, agile mindset, encouraging integrity, honesty, and trust within your team.
• Foster collaboration and motivate your team to participate in broader IT initiatives.
• Act as the BJB ambassador and primary contact locally for vendors and stakeholders.
• Conduct team meetings and one-on-one discussions, ensuring effective communication.
• Align with the bank’s and IT’s strategic goals, supporting initiatives that advance these objectives.

Collaboration with Global CoE Heads

• Workforce planning, resource allocation, and forecasting.
• Recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of local resources.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, including mandatory trainings, overtime, vacations, and local labor laws.
• Manage recertification of roles and access, and adhere to security guidelines.

Your Profile

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire IT teams.
• Technical background in IT (e.g., JAVA, .NET) to understand team activities.
• Experience in the financial industry or HR is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Empathetic, decisive, results-oriented, capable of creating a valued and supported environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
• Self-motivated, organized, goal-oriented, with excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of relevant IT and banking regulations and standards.
• Several years of relevant experience, with Agile and SAFe certification preferred.

Language Skills

• Spanish – native or fluent.
• English – fluent (C1/C2) or native.
• German – a plus.
