Your mission

• Build and improve backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI
• Help shape our architecture as the platform grows, keeping things simple, reliable, and easy pleasant to work with
• Own projects from idea to production and stay involved through monitoring, iteration and improvements.
• Work closely with product and frontend teams to ship features that feel natural in the wider system.
• Improve reliability, performance, and general quality of the backend over time
• Investigate issues across services and environments, keeping outages small and learning focused
• Mentor teammates, share knowledge, and contribute to a healthy engineering culture
• Join technical discussions, propose solutions, and help guide decisions across the team

Your profile

• 7+ years of experience building backend systems with Python
• Strong at designing APIs, backend architectures, and clear service boundaries
• Able to break down problems and design maintainable, scalable solutions
• Comfortable working with relational and NoSQL databases
• Solid Linux or Unix knowledge
• Familiar with Kubernetes and cloud environments like AWS
• Good communicator who works well with product and other engineers
• Experienced in mentoring and guiding teammates

Bonus points

• Experience breaking down monoliths, applying the strangler pattern, or extracting services cleanly
• Familiarity with DDD, hexagonal architecture, and other domain oriented design approaches
• Strong grasp of Python internals, performance tuning, or advanced language features
• Experience improving observability across services, including metrics, logs, and tracing
• Experience with event-driven systems or message based integrations
• Good product instinct and ability to make engineering decisions based on business impact
