Systra is a leading engineering and consulting group specialized in public transport and mobility solutions. The company's activity is growing substantially in Spain.

The legal expert will provide support on matters related to project procurement, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution. They will work closely with internal stakeholders, clients, consortium partners, subcontractors, and external advisors.

The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Spanish public procurement rules, engineering contracts, and D&B / construction contracts. They should also have experience in negotiating and drafting contracts, as well as previous experience in an international environment.

Additional requirements include fluency in Spanish and English, with knowledge of French and Portuguese being a plus. A law degree (LLM or PhD) and admission as a solicitor in Spain are also advantageous.

Responsibilities :

• Provide legal advice and analysis on project procurement matters
• Draft and advise on a wide range of contracts and agreements
• Support contract negotiations and act as a key focal point for internal and external parties
• Deal with internal clients and operational teams, clients, consortium partners, subcontractors, and their legal advisors
• Understand and extensively know active projects and tenders in preparation
• Engage with management to meet goals and ensure adherence to important corporate and regulatory policies
• Liaise with local insurance brokers for projects and tenders
• Liaise and coordinate with external counsels
• Draft legal notices and lead the support towards management of dispute cases

Requirements :

• Law degree (LLM or PhD)
• Admission as a solicitor in Spain (advantageous)
• Fluency in Spanish and English
• Knowledge of French and Portuguese (plus)
• 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Previous experience in either construction, transport, or engineering sectors
• Experience in oil and gas and / or energy / water sector (considered)
