Overview

At Indra Deimos, we're shaping the future of space exploration with cutting-edge technologies for interplanetary missions, planetary defense, autonomous rendezvous, and much more. We're looking for a Senior Flight Dynamics Software Engineer to join our Interplanetary Mission Analysis (IMAN) Competence Centre within the Mission Engineering Business Unit.

What’s the Challenge?

As a Senior Flight Dynamics Software Engineer at Indra Deimos, you'll lead the development of high-fidelity software tools for orbital simulation and mission design. Your contributions will directly impact scientific missions for top-tier clients like ESA, as well as internal projects pushing the boundaries of innovation. You’ll also take part in advanced research in celestial mechanics and astrodynamics.

Your contributions will include:

  • Designing and evolving our in-house Flight Dynamics System (FDS) to simulate constellations and orbital maneuvers.
  • End-to-end development, validation, and operational deployment of the FDS software for satellite and constellation simulations.
  • Creating and automating strategies for constellation deployment, station-keeping, replenishment, collision avoidance, and re-entry.
  • Defining algorithms for Space Situational Awareness (SSA).
  • Supporting mission design for interplanetary and Earth Observation missions.
  • Simulating spacecraft dynamics and modeling the space environment.
  • Developing custom software tools to support mission analysis activities.
  • Driving innovation, refining engineering processes, and contributing to technology research and knowledge sharing across teams.
What We're Looking For

Education:

  • M. Sc. in Aerospace Engineering.

Experience:

  • 4–6 years in relevant space domains including software development and flight dynamics.
  • Strong background in orbital mechanics and trajectory optimization using various propulsion systems.
  • Skilled in C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of software engineering methods and orbital analysis tools.
  • Bonus points for experience with lunar missions, satellite operations, telemetry, estimation theory, and object-oriented programming.

Language:

  • Excellent level of English, both spoken and written.
