Job Description

Purpose of the role:

The objective of the Senior Buyer will be to manage the end-to-end sourcing process, supporting airlines in project coordination for the category and implementing the category strategy related to goods and services.

  • This role involves working with stakeholders (inside and outside Group Procurement) to standardise and simplify specifications, define sourcing strategies, analyse RFP outputs, negotiate commercial terms, and draft contracts. It covers all sourcing processes globally within the category with key objectives including cost savings, cash flow improvement, transaction automation, e-Sourcing, supply base rationalisation, risk mitigation, and contractual coverage.
  • You will make an impact by:
  • Implementing a category plan strategy through leading the end-to-end sourcing process.
  • Supporting the RFP process (specifications, structure, supplier agreement, milestones, evaluation criteria); negotiating all commercial terms with suppliers (including remote and in-person negotiations).
  • Developing and managing communication channels and stakeholder groups within and outside Group Procurement.
  • Aligning activities across group companies and collaborating with other functions within the Procurement Operations Centre Team (POC) to manage the entire sourcing process, including Supplier Intelligence, Procurement Team, and Planning.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you are likely to have:

  • Proven success in managing end-to-end procurement within complex matrix organisations, with strong negotiation, contract drafting, and autonomous execution skills. Experience in aircraft interiors procurement or the broader aviation industry is highly desirable, with specific expertise in cabin technology considered a significant advantage.
  • Project management experience, especially given the numerous Linefit and Retrofit programmes across the Group Airlines.
  • A proven track record in Supplier Relationship Management, including establishing and nurturing supplier partnerships, driving supplier development, managing contracts, and maximising contractual performance.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, particularly supporting international airplane engineering procurement projects; aircraft interiors procurement experience is highly desirable.
  • The ability to influence, align diverse views, and gain consensus, providing clarity and direction, while breaking down barriers to effective teamwork.
  • Language skills: English is mandatory; Spanish is an asset.

Other:

  • Willingness to travel and work in a multi-site environment.
  • We operate in a hybrid model, working 3 days a week in the Madrid office.
