Project Manager Africa (Civil, Mining or Industrial Engineer)

Location: Madrid

Overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of a project, aiming for maximum optimization and profitability.

The Mining Project Manager oversees all aspects of project management, including personnel and account management of existing mining projects, as well as assisting in the development and management of new mining projects under the guidance of the General Direction. The role involves strong technical involvement, with responsibilities for developing and delivering technical services to both new and existing mining clients.

International location at a mining site with a Fly-in Fly-out roster system.

Responsibilities include:

HSEQS

• Maintain a zero-harm work environment for all employees, contractors, clients, and the public.
• Ensure safe and efficient use of all products and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with MAXAM and relevant quality standards.
• Adhere to MAXAM Safety, Quality, Environment & Security policies.

Project Management / Operations & Technical

• Deliver objectives and outcomes within critical timeframes.
• Manage resources within budgetary constraints.
• Accurately complete daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
• Maintain updated production forecasts based on inventories and orders.
• Participate actively as a safety committee member.
• Authorize timesheets for employees.
• Track site performance and KPIs.
• Train customers on MAXAM products.
• Collaborate with customers to optimize drilling and blasting practices.
• Implement product quality assurance programs.
• Troubleshoot blast hole malfunctions when necessary.

Customer Relationship Management

• Implement and manage account management plans aligned with strategic business objectives.
• Conduct business review meetings.
• Supervise site staff to ensure project and contractual goals are met.
• Manage third-party suppliers.

Technical Services

• Identify opportunities for technical services and collaborate with the technical team to develop initiatives that add value for MAXAM and clients.

Identify cost savings for MAXAM and mining clients to support contract maintenance and renewal.

• Supervise manufacturing and delivery of bulk products to boreholes.
• Ensure accurate completion of plant production reports and testing measurements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Industrial, Geology, Mechanical, etc.).
• Experience in the mining industry is a plus but not required.
• Professional-level fluency in English.
• At least three years of experience in a similar Project Manager role.
• Honesty, integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to work on a Fly-in Fly-out roster system in West African countries.
