A European rating agency in Madrid is looking for a Credit Rating Analyst to lead the rating process for European corporates, focusing on both quantitative and qualitative factors. The candidate will be responsible for presenting detailed reports to the rating committee and monitoring a portfolio of ratings. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in credit risk analysis is required, along with strong financial statement analysis skills. Advanced proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of French or Portuguese is a plus. The position offers a permanent contract and involves travel across Europe.

Full service European rating agency. Focused on middle market corporate, project finance, structured finance, financial entities and sovereign debt ratings. The company is part of the French Ethifinance Group which, apart from credit ratings, provides a wide range of financial services including ESG ratings, ESG consulting, High Yield Bonds market analysis, modeling and other analytic tools. As a credit rating analyst, you will be responsible for leading primarily the credit rating process of European corporates (full analysis process including an in-depth analysis of the quantitative and qualitative variables of a company) that results in a comprehensive rating report that you will present to the rating committee. You must be available to travel across Europe (mainly Spain, France & Portugal) and feel comfortable leading meetings with Senior‑level professionals (mainly CFOs).

The position also requires monitoring a portfolio of credit ratings and taking rating actions when warranted, in agreement with your manager.

CFA, MBA and technical backgrounds (math, engineering) valued positively.

Between 3 and 5 years of experience, preferably as a credit risk analyst in a bank, credit rating agency, asset manager etc.

Strong understanding of financial statement analysis.

Advanced / Fluent English both written and spoken. French and / or Portuguese is a plus.
