A global agricultural company is seeking a Product Development Manager to join their team in the Murcia Region, Spain. This full-time position involves developing new product assortments, managing local crop trials, and advising on introduction strategies. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture and substantial experience in the vegetable seed industry.

Are you looking for a professional opportunity in a global agricultural company focused on seeds and involving product advancement decisions?

KWS Vegetables is looking for a Product Development Manager (m / f / d) for our station in Almeria or Murcia Region Spain. This is a full-time and permanent role.

Responsibilities

• Develop new assortment for PMCs on local and country level
• Implement Crop / PMC Trial plan in line with global crop trial plan
• Member of local crop team(s); give input crop strategy market- customer intelligence
• Support development and maintenance of product profiles
• Advise on and support introduction strategies
• Ensure implementation / alignment of trial calendar
• Design local trial plan, execute trial plan, data collection, draft conclusions, propose elevation decisions
• Align with breeder and sales on product profiles per Product Market Combination; propose priorities and focus areas
• Provide guidance / input to breeding direction and breeding selections
• Market and competitor intelligence together with sales; understand trends and drivers
• Identify unique selling points of the new commercial varieties versus competitors and existing portfolio
• Define growing protocols and growing concepts before commercial launching
• Implementation and use of tools like Mercado, etc.
• Based on the portfolio, the PDM can have multi-crop and cross-country responsibilities
• Lead Trial Developments Specialist(s) (hierarchical and functional leadership)

Your profile

• Requires a minimum of a B.S. in Agronomy or Horticulture
• 3 years of experience in the vegetable seed industry is preferred
• General experience in product development
• Fluent English in word and writing; additional language(s) are an advantage
• Ability to think and act at different levels; prepared to put boots on the ground
• Analytical and results-oriented; we make it happen mentality
