GF_Finance & Controlling, Accounting - OTC Billing Accountant - Full Time - Madrid, Spain

We are looking for an OTC Billing Accountant to join our GF_Finance & Controlling, Accounting team in Spain to help us enhance our Order to Cash processes. As a Billing Analyst, you will collaborate with multiple Sulzer Legal Entities and engage with stakeholders including Project Managers, Finance Heads, the CoE Accounting Manager, the Reporting and Analytics team, and external customers.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and issue invoices to customers based on service agreements and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  2. Collaborate closely with the local Project Manager.
  3. Review and reconcile billing data for completeness and accuracy, making necessary adjustments.
  4. Ensure timely dispatch of invoices, complying with local regulations (e.g., B2B e-invoicing).
  5. Coordinate with sales, customer service, cash collections, and project management teams to gather information and resolve billing issues.
  6. Maintain and update customer billing information in the system.
  7. Perform Accounts Receivable, Revenue & Aging analysis.
  8. Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to billing, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  9. Generate and analyze billing reports, providing insights to improve processes and reduce errors.
  10. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations.
  11. Participate in system and process improvements.
  12. Assist during audits with documentation and inquiries.
  13. Support intercompany billing processes.
  14. Contribute to defining and preparing billing KPIs.
Requirements to Succeed:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of billing experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred.
  • Understanding of the Order to Cash cycle and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in billing reports interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, iScala) is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus.
