Contract Jr. Manager – Madrid, Spain

Operations Group Contract Management (reports into the Contract Management team)

Responsibilities
Bank Guarantee Management – Global
  • Collaborate with Sales and Finance to negotiate bank guarantees required under contract (type, amount, tenor, and wording).
  • Work with Project Managers and Finance to timely issue bank guarantees, coordinating internal requests, bank applications, signatures, originals, delivery, and filing.
  • Monitor existing bank guarantees, identify expiring ones, and manage their extension or release as required by the contract.
  • Maintain an accurate bank‑guarantee register, ensure proper archiving of originals and amendments, and coordinate with issuing banks/insurers as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement of standard templates and playbooks while ensuring compliance with internal policies and approval workflows.
Project Support – Europe
  • Support Project Managers with late‑payment notices to customers, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and proper proof of delivery.
  • Assist with other formal communications required under the contract (e.g., notices of delay, change order, correspondence, suspension/resumption) under supervision.
  • Track outgoing notices and customer responses; maintain a correspondence log and provide periodic status updates to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate signatures and store all finalized communications and related evidence in the contract database.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with contract lifecycle administration (signature routing, approvals, filing) as needed.
  • Prepare periodic dashboards and reports (e.g., bank‑guarantee status, upcoming expiries, notices issued) for management.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance speed, quality, and compliance of contract formation and management.
Requirements – Mandatory
  • Extreme attention to detail and a zero‑defect mindset.
  • Self‑motivated with persistence to follow up with all required stakeholders to closure.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Open‑minded and highly collaborative with teams across functions, regions, and time zones.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; comfortable working with contract databases and trackers.
  • Eligibility to work in Spain.
Requirements – Valued
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in contracts administration, finance, banking, or project coordination (internships and work‑study experience welcome).
  • Exposure to bank guarantees, standby letters of credit (SBLC), or letters of credit (LC).
  • Experience in energy infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with ERP/finance systems and contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools.
