THE ROLE

The Junior Accountant will assist the Finance Manager - Hospitality in establishing Legends’ Hospitality business in Iberia and play a key role in running day-to-day accounting activities.

The role requires someone with the ability to work independently through routine accounting tasks and processes. A significant focus will be on Accounts Payable, daily sales-to-cash reconciliations, bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting.

This is an opportunity to be an integral part of the team tasked to run back-office finance operations for the company’s new hospitality business in Iberia.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Accounts Payable (e.g. supplier invoice accounting, invoice vs purchase order matching, payment schedules).
• Daily reconciliation of sales and cash & credit card transactions as well as bank reconciliations.
• Month-end procedures (incl. operational cost, sales recognition).
• General Ledger Accounting, including Balance Sheet accounts.
• Assist the Finance Manager in developing and coordinating accounting processes.
• Build solid working relationships with local internal business partners (e.g. procurement, marketing, operations).
• Assistance with annual audit process.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Support in-venue cash management operations during events.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2-3 years of Finance experience preferably in the hospitality sector, with proven experience in Accounts Payable.

University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required, and / or professional Accounting qualification.

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential.

Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement.

Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.

Knowledge of POS, Procurement Systems or ERP a plus.

Good level of English (verbal and written).

Must be available to work occasionally on weekends / evenings.
