The Role

As an Indirect Tax Manager, you will lead a variety of indirect tax engagements, advising clients on VAT and other indirect tax matters across Spain, the EU, and globally. You will manage projects, build strong client relationships, and support the development of junior colleagues within the Barcelona team.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading VAT and indirect tax advisory projects, including compliance, planning, and cross-border structuring.
• Acting as a trusted advisor on Spanish, EU, and international indirect tax regulations.
• Managing, mentoring, and developing junior team members.
• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical advice and client service.
• Collaborating with colleagues across corporate tax, international tax, and advisory teams to provide integrated solutions.
• Contributing to business development initiatives, including proposals and client engagement.
• Staying up to date with developments in Spanish, EU, and global indirect tax legislation.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in tax, law, accountancy, or economics (e.g. CTA, ACA, ACCA, Spanish Tax Advisor, or equivalent).
• Strong experience in indirect tax / VAT, ideally gained in a Big 4 or top advisory firm.
• Excellent knowledge of Spanish and EU VAT and indirect tax regulations.
• Proven experience managing projects and client relationships.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
• Commercial awareness and ambition to progress within a leading global firm.
