The role includes designing corporate structures, building financial models and leading compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in senior finance roles, ideally within multi-entity e-commerce groups. The position is remote-friendly, with strong emphasis on strategic mindset and excellent communication skills.

Strategic Group CFO – E-commerce / Digital Consumer Brands

We are hiring a Strategic CFO to lead the financial direction of an international ecommerce group operating multiple DTC brands. You will work closely with the CEO and founders to design the financial structure that supports our next phase of global growth.

This is a role for someone who’s built ecommerce group finance systems, from cashflow and FX to forecasting and internal capital deployment, and knows how to make structure serve strategy.

What will you be doing :

Strategic Leadership Design and implement optimal corporate structures for new entities across multiple jurisdictions. Advise on inter-company agreements, capital allocation models, and funding strategies that protect and grow owner capital. Lead cashflow, FX, and treasury strategies to minimise costs, reduce exposure, and improve liquidity.

Financial Planning & Insight Build advanced forecasting and scenario models to guide owner and leadership decisions. Connect key e-commerce performance metrics (contribution profit, CAC, LTV, conversion rates) to actionable financial strategies. Deliver regular financial insights to the CEO and founders, focusing on opportunities, risks, and ROI.

Operational Excellence Oversee the consolidation of multi-currency, multi-entity accounts with full compliance. Ensure robust tax planning and risk management across all jurisdictions, working with specialist advisors. Lead financial and legal due diligence for any M&A activity, producing insight-driven reports and recommendations. Standardise group-wide financial policies, controls, and processes for scalability.

Leadership & Team Development Lead & develop the NZ-based finance team.

Required education, skills & experience : Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics; MBA preferred Recognised qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent) 10+ years in senior finance roles, ideally as CFO or Group Finance Director in a multi-entity e-commerce group Experience building finance infrastructure for owner-led companies without institutional capital, setting up legal entities, treasury operations, FX hedging, and tax strategy Experience scaling startup or scale‑up ecommerce firms; comfortable in agile, cross‑functional, distributed environments
