Pastry Chef Specialist
We are seeking an experienced pastry chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention catering service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the pastry shop according to company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the production, quality, and presentation of pastry and dessert offerings.
- Assist with forecasting production needs and tracking leftovers.
- Coordinate display setup for various buffets.
- Maintain knowledge of food safety regulations and ensure compliance.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the pastry shop and equipment.
- Prepare the pastry area for health inspections.
- Requisition and transport necessary items from main stores to the pastry shop.
- Verify that recipes and yields meet company standards.
- Assist with completing daily pastry consumption reports.
- Aware of and assist with guest and crew member inquiries.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum three years' experience as a pastry chef in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention catering service.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and equipment usage.
- Completion of high school or equivalent education requirement.
