Morningstar DBRS European Structured Finance team is looking for an experienced securitisation analyst at the AVP level to be based in Frankfurt. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, an analytical mind, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will possess interpersonal and presentation skills necessary to work with all levels of staff and external contacts.

Responsibilities
  • Lead surveillance analyst for a portfolio of ongoing ratings of European structured finance transactions rated by Morningstar DBRS across different asset classes, mainly NPLs and RPLs, but also including RMBS and ABS.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts as needed.
  • Conduct portfolio credit analysis using Morningstar DBRS rating methodologies and analytical tools.
  • Analyze asset-liability cash flow structures with Morningstar DBRS cash flow tools.
  • Study recent performance trends, evaluating metrics such as collection ratio, profitability, delinquencies, defaults, recoveries, CPRs, credit enhancement, and rating conditions.
  • Review and approve performance analytics reports for publication.
  • Collaborate with European Structured Finance teams and analysts, support rating assignments, and act as lead analyst when required.
  • Work with arrangers and issuers on transaction amendments and restructurings, and during rating assignments.
  • Conduct on-site or virtual reviews of transaction originators/sellers with operational risk analysts.
  • Prepare high-quality surveillance and rating committee memos with analysis and recommendations.
  • Write and publish press releases, rating reports, and market research.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and reports for internal and external use.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, mathematics, financial engineering, economics, accounting, or similar quantitative field.
  • CFA, accounting designation, or Master's degree considered an asset.
  • Typically 5+ years in financial services.
  • Deep knowledge of NPL and RPL transactions.
  • Experience reviewing legal documents and conducting cash flow analyses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; advanced skills in other Office programs.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Willingness to learn new analytical approaches, think creatively, and work in a team.
  • Legal right to work in the EU; occasional travel may be required.
Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of programming languages like VBA or Python.
  • Knowledge of additional European languages.
