Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is essential.
• CA, CPA, or similar qualification, or nearing completion.
• Experience with Oracle accounting software is an advantage.

Americold is a US listed global leader in Cold Storage Warehouse. The company has been growing in size and in sophistication and has 20 warehouses in its network throughout Europe. During 2026, the European region will transition onto Oracle ERP to unify its reporting and IT systems across all continents.

We are seeking an Accountant

The successful candidate will take ownership and responsibility for the end-to-end process of:

1. Fixed Assets accounting, managing Capital Work In Progress (CWIP) to final asset closures and reporting for all Europe;
2. The accounting & maintenance of 3 holding entities;
3. Serving as the backup for the Senior Financial Accountant.

This role is based in Barcelona, 22@, on a hybrid work policy (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).

Key Responsibilities

1. Control Capex Budget spending process to ensure SOX compliance;
2. Liaise with facilities managers regarding investment proposals;
3. Lead fixed assets capitalization process, ensuring USGAAP reporting and local tax compliance;
4. Maintain 3 Fixed Assets Ledgers across all countries (Local Accounting) – IFRS, USGAAP, and Tax;
5. Reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger monthly;
6. Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including CWIP;
7. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and quarterly SOX testing;
8. Build the Fixed Assets Depreciation Budget and assist with annual CAPEX budgeting;
9. Contribute to the development and compliance of the internal control environment and risk management under SOX;
10. Drive process improvements through automation and efficiency initiatives;
11. Act as a finance representative on key projects and process improvements;
12. Collaborate with non-finance departments for cross-departmental projects;
13. Assist with ad hoc projects and other duties as required.

Holding Entities Accounting

1. Manage month-end financial reporting, including journals and reconciliations;
2. Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting with the Senior Financial Controller and FP&A;
3. Serve as backup for the Senior Financial Accountant based in Schiphol, Netherlands;
4. Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting (essential);
2. CA, CPA, or similar qualification, or nearing completion;
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel;
4. Experience with Oracle accounting software is an advantage.
